India Introduces Major Policy Shifts in Rural Employment, Sustainable Tourism, and Digital Governance

In the past 24 hours, India has seen significant advancements and policy overhauls across various sectors. Parliament approved the "Viksit Bharat- Guarantee For Rozgar And Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025," replacing the long-standing MGNREGA with a new, supply-driven rural employment scheme. Ladakh launched an incentive program for sustainable tourism, encouraging Sewage Treatment Plant installations in hotels. The government also highlighted new initiatives in digital governance with the AI-powered SabhaSaar tool, enhanced support for telecom technology development, and a comprehensive strategy to boost farmers' income. Efforts for tribal development and urban infrastructure were also underscored, alongside discussions on strengthening economic ties and innovation with Oman.
