India Unveils Key Policies and Schemes Across Manufacturing, Social Welfare, and Infrastructure

In the past 24 hours, the Indian government has announced and advanced several significant policies and schemes. These include a major initiative to boost domestic manufacturing of Rare Earth Permanent Magnets (REPMs) with a substantial outlay, the approval of a new scheme for research and innovation in the textile sector (Tex-RAMPS), and a revamped Senior Citizen Scheme for 2025. Furthermore, the implementation of four new Labour Codes has drawn both praise and protests, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi indicated a move towards opening the nuclear sector to private players. Major infrastructure projects like multi-tracking railway lines and Pune Metro Phase-2 also received cabinet approval.
