India Inaugurates Quantum Fabrication Facilities; Reaffirms ₹1 Lakh Crore R&D Fund for Tech Advancement

India has taken a significant leap in its scientific and technological prowess with the establishment of new state-of-the-art quantum fabrication facilities under the National Quantum Mission. These facilities, located at IIT Bombay and IISc Bengaluru, are backed by a ₹720 crore investment and aim to indigenize the production of quantum computing chips and sensors, reducing foreign dependency. Concurrently, Union Minister for Science & Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, reaffirmed the ₹1 lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Fund, a transformative initiative to bolster private-sector-led R&D in crucial "sunrise" technologies. Additionally, IIT Kharagpur launched "Impact RISE," focusing on sustainable tech for societal transformation.
